2-Fluorobenzoyl chloride is a redox potential that can be used as a solid catalyst in acylation reactions. It has been shown to have anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. 2-Fluorobenzoyl chloride has also been shown to be effective against influenza virus in vitro. 2-Fluorobenzoyl chloride reacts with the chlorine atom of trifluoroacetic acid to form an aromatic hydrocarbon, which can then react with ns3 protease or serine protease.
2-Fluorobenzoyl chloride is a reactive intermediate for a number of organic syntheses, including Friedel-Crafts reaction and acylation reactions.
