Product Information
- N-Formyl-2-[3-pyridyl]pyrrolidine2-(3-Pyridinyl)-1-pyrrolidinecarboxaldehyde
N-Formylnornicotine is a tobacco alkaloid that is found in the environment as a result of human activity. It has been detected in wastewater and has been shown to react with hydrogen fluoride (HF) to form reactive nitrosamines. N-Formylnornicotine can be detected by analytical methods such as dispersive solid-phase extraction and high performance liquid chromatography. Nitrosamines are compounds that have been linked to health effects in humans and other organisms, including cancer and reproductive toxicity. The efficiency of wastewater treatment plants at removing N-formylnornicotine from wastewater is not known.
