Description:

Fmoc-N-methyl-L-leucine is an amino acid that has been used as a chiral auxiliary in peptide synthesis. It is also an active ester, which can be used to mediate the reaction between an amine and a carboxylic acid. This compound reacts with pyridinium salts to form reactive intermediates that are useful for monitoring cyclosporine levels. Fmoc-N-methyl-L-leucine is also useful for peptide synthesis on a solid phase, yielding tetrapeptides in high yields.
