Description

9-Fluorenone-4-carboxylic acid is a fluorescent compound that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of chloride channels. This molecule is structurally similar to the fluoroquinolones, but it is not active against bacteria. 9-Fluorenone-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to inhibit the activity of chemosensors, which are molecules that respond to chemicals in the environment by changing their conformation and emitting light.
