3-Fluoronitrobenzene (3FN) is a chemical compound that is used to synthesize other substances. It has a molecular structure of C6H5NO2 and is composed of one fluorine atom and two nitro groups. 3FN has been found to be an effective antiviral agent against the Covid-19 pandemic, which was responsible for the 2009 flu pandemic in Mexico. 3FN blocks the synthesis of RNA, which prevents viral replication. This chemical also has a thermodynamic reaction mechanism that involves hydrochloric acid as a reactant and produces nitrous acid as a product. The nucleophilic property of 3FN enables it to react with nucleophiles such as water or ammonia, which leads to the production of diazonium salt.
