Description:
Fast red violet lb base is a pigment that has been used as a histological stain. It is also used in the production of diazonium salts, which are antidiabetic agents. Fast red violet lb base is an orange-red dye with a pH optimum of 3.4 and has been shown to be cytotoxic at high concentrations. The compound is derived from gland cells, stem cell factor, and polymorphonuclear leucocytes. It has also been shown to be highly reactive with hydroxyl groups and monoclonal antibodies.
