Description

2-Fluoro-4-pyridinecarboxylic acid is a substance that belongs to the class of spiroindolines. It has been shown to be effective against cryptococcus neoformans and other bacteria. 2-Fluoro-4-pyridinecarboxylic acid has a bacteriostatic effect on bacteria by binding to their DNA and inhibiting protein synthesis. This drug also emits light when dissolved in organic solvents, which can be used to identify its presence in samples. 2-Fluoro-4-pyridinecarboxylic acid is also able to extract substances from a dispersive solid phase, such as an ion exchange resin or a silica gel column.
