2-Fluorobenzyl chloride is a dihedral molecule. It is also an enantiopure molecule that can be obtained through molecular modeling and by using radiation transfer reactions. The 2-fluorobenzyl chloride has been shown to inhibit DNA replication in human serum, with the effect increased by the presence of halides, such as chloride or hydrochloric acid. This compound is structurally similar to piperazine, which may explain its ability to inhibit DNA replication. 2-Fluorobenzyl chloride has been shown to have structural similarities with other compounds of interest for drug development.
