4-Fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is a synthetic, electron-rich aniline that inhibits the growth of bacteria. It is used as a palladium catalyst in organic synthesis. 4-Fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline binds to DNA and inhibits bacterial cell growth by preventing DNA replication. This drug also has an inhibitory effect on the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids. 4-Fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline may be effective against some cancers such as sarcoma, leukemia, and lymphoma, due to its ability to inhibit the production of tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α.
