Description:
(S)-2-Amino-3-(furan-3-yl)propanoic acid is a naturally occurring amino acid. It has been found to be present in the hemolymph of the larvae of the chrysomelidae family, including Colorado potato beetle and soybean looper. It is also found in the abdominal glands of these insects. This natural compound has been synthetically produced as well, which allows for its use as a reagent in enantioselective synthesis.
