Description:

Fmoc-glu(OBzl)-OH is a carboxyl-containing compound that is used as a building block for peptide synthesis. It is synthesized from the corresponding acid chloride, which is prepared from the corresponding carboxylic acid and chloroformate. The acid chloride can be coupled to amines or alcohols in an esterification reaction to form amides or esters, respectively. This synthetic intermediate can also be converted to secondary amides by reacting with ammonia and then chlorinating with ammonium chloride.
