Product Information

Name:
FMOC-D-4-TrifluoromethylPhe
Synonyms:
  • 2-(9h-Fluoren-9-yloxycarbonylamino)-3-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-propionic acid
  • Fmoc-D-4-Trifluoromethylphenylalanine
  • Fmoc-D-4-Trifluoromethylphe
  • Fmoc-D-Phe(4-CF3)-OH
Description:

FMOC-D-4-TrifluoromethylPhe is a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) protease inhibitor. HIV protease is an enzyme that cleaves HIV polyproteins into functional proteins. FMOC-D-4-TrifluoromethylPhe inhibits the activity of this enzyme and prevents maturation of the viral particle, which may lead to a decrease in viral load. It has been shown to inhibit HIV protease in vitro at concentrations of 0.5 μM and 1 μM, respectively. It also has inhibitory activity against other aspartic proteases, including pancreatic trypsin, chymotrypsin and papain.
