Fmoc-gln(Mbh)-OH is a synthetic peptide that was synthesized using the solid-phase synthesis method. It contains a carboxamide group and hydrophobic side chain. This peptide has been shown to have a wide range of functions, including binding to human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and mediating its effects on the kinesin protein. Fmoc-gln(Mbh)-OH binds to hCG by means of an azobenzene group that forms hydrogen bonds with the peptide backbone. The residues in this peptide are ordered such that they form helical structures during synthesis.
