Description

4-Fluoro-1-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid is a serotonin receptor ligand that binds to the 5-HT1A receptor. It is used as a radioligand for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of the 5-HT1A receptor in animal and human studies. 4-Fluoro-1-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid has been shown to have high affinity for the 5-HT1A receptor, with an intercept of 0.14 nM at the highest concentration tested (100 μM). This drug has been shown to have good pharmacokinetic properties in rats, with a half life of 1.5 hours and a volume of distribution of 2.3 L/kg. 4-Fluoro-1-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid also has biological properties that are not shared by other drugs, including uptake by rat hepatocytes.
