Product Information
- Fmoc-L-Ala-Wang resin
Fmoc-L-alanine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin is a monolayer of an amino acid derivative, which has been used to study the interactions between vancomycin and glycopeptide antibiotics. Fmoc-L-alanine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin has shown that vancomycin binds to the glycopeptide antibiotic by forming a dimerizing self-assembled monolayer. This binding leads to depletion of the glycopeptide antibiotic in solution, which can be reversed by increasing the concentration of vancomycin. The linker group may also be important for this interaction, as it is necessary for vancomycin to bind with both d-alanine and n-terminal regions of the glycopeptide antibiotic.
