The Fmoc-glycine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin is an acidic resin. It can be used as a solid phase for the synthesis of cyclic peptides and other amide bonds. This resin is also used to produce monoclonal antibodies, which are used in cancer research. Fmoc-glycine 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol resin has been shown to be resistant to hydrogen fluoride, due to its acidic ph. The sequence of this resin can be easily modified by changing the length of the side chain on the phenyl ring and altering the nature of the ester linkage. This resin can be damaged by trifluoroacetic acid, which will result in a decreased yield and quality of products synthesized using this compound.
