Product Information

Name:
Fmoc-L-leucine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester
Synonyms:
  • Fmoc-L-Leu-OSu(S)-Fmoc-2-amino-4-methylpentanoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester
  • Fmoc-Leu-OSu
Description:

Fmoc-L-leucine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is a reagent that can be used to couple amino acids together in the synthesis of peptides. This coupling reaction is often used in industrial production of synthetic peptides, such as leuprorelin (for prostate cancer) and midbody (for contraception). Fmoc-L-leucine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is synthesized by condensation of ammonium chloride and ethylamine in liquid phase at alkaline pH. It is then reacted with solid-phase resin that has been activated with succinic anhydride or pentafluorophenyl ester.
