Fmoc-gamma-tert-butyl ester-L-glutamol is a peptide which is synthesized by the reaction of an amino acid with an anhydride in the presence of sodium borohydride. The efficiency of this method is increased by using Boc-protected amino acids and sodium borohydride as a catalyst. This synthesis can be done efficiently and selectively with alcohols.
