Product Information
- Fmoc-D-Nle-OHFmoc-D-2-aminohexanoic acid
- Fmoc-D-Nle-OH
- N-[(9H-fluoren-9-ylmethoxy)carbonyl]-D-norleucine
Fmoc-D-norleucine is a peptidomimetic synthesized by modification of the amino acid norleucine. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of elastase, an enzyme that degrades elastin and other proteins in the body. Fmoc-D-norleucine acts as an inhibitor of elastase by binding to the active site and blocking access to substrate. The inhibition is stereoselective, with a greater affinity for the active site of human elastase than porcine elastase. In addition, Fmoc-D-norleucine has been conjugated to various molecules that have different effects on cells, such as antibodies or chemotherapeutic drugs. This allows for optimization of drug delivery routes and more effective treatments while reducing side effects.
