Product Information
- Fmoc-L-Alanyl Chloride
- NALPHA-9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-L-alanyl chloride
Fmoc-L-alanyl chloride is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of cyclodepsipeptides. It has potent antitumor activity in vivo and in vitro. Fmoc-L-alanyl chloride has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by inhibiting the protein synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. This inhibition is due to its ability to bind to the ribosome and inhibit peptide bond formation. Fmoc-L-alanyl chloride can be synthesized by solid phase chemistry using an automated synthesizer. The amide bond is formed between an amino acid, such as L-alanine, and an activated carboxylic acid, such as HOBt (1-hydroxybenzotriazole).
