Fmoc-O-methyl-D-tyrosine is a peptide science antagonist that blocks the synthesis of peptides. It is used in the sequence analysis of peptides and as a probe for strategies to synthesize peptides with specific sequences. Fmoc-O-methyl-D-tyrosine has also been shown to inhibit endopeptidase activity, which may be due to its sulfur content. Further research is needed to determine whether or not Fmoc-O-methyl-D-tyrosine inhibits selenocysteine incorporation into proteins.
