Fmoc-L-allo-threonine is a substance that can be extracted from fungi and plants. It is an amino acid that belongs to the group of fatty acids. Fmoc-L-allo-threonine has been shown to inhibit ergosterol synthesis in fungi and lead to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, by binding to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA and inhibiting protein synthesis.
