N-alpha-Fmoc-Nepsilon-trityl-L-lysine is a traceless linker that has been used in cell membrane and cellular localization studies. The amino acid sequence of the peptide is valine, methoxy, salinity, chromatographic, acidic, and reductively. N-alpha-Fmoc-Nepsilon-trityl-L-lysine can be prepared from commercially available N-(9'-fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl)-Nepsilon-(2'pyridyldithio)propionamide (FMOC) and L-(+)-lysine. It has been shown to be effective in microscopy studies of sequences in cell nuclei and for the detection of cells by laser ablation.
