Description:
Fmoc-S-4-methoxytrityl-D-cysteine is a disulfide that can be used to synthesize cyclic peptides. It contains an amide bond, which is a covalent linkage between the nitrogen atom of the side chain of one amino acid and the carbon atom of the carboxyl group of another amino acid. The synthesis of these peptides can be done on a solid support using solid phase peptide synthesis. This process is carried out in two steps: First, the desired amino acids are coupled to a resin by reaction with an activated ester (e.g., Fmoc-gly-OH) at their N-terminal end.
