Product Information

Name:
5-Fluoro-1H-indazole
Synonyms:
  • 5-Fluoroindazole
  • 1H-Indazole, 5-fluoro-
  • 5-Fluoro (1H)indazol
Description:

5-Fluoro-1H-indazole is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have ion-pair properties in an experimentally set up ionic liquid. It is also known as a potential drug candidate for the treatment of pain. 5-Fluoro-1H-indazole produces antinociceptive effects by inhibiting the enzymatic activity of nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase. This effect was observed in an enzymatic assay with isolated mouse brain synaptosomes and rat ileum preparations. The mechanism of action of 5-fluoro-1H-indazole remains unclear, but it may be due to its ability to bind to fluorine and chlorine, which are both biologically active elements.
