Product Information
- Pyrrolidine, 3-[(4-Fluorophenyl)Methyl]-
3-(4-Fluorobenzyl)pyrrolidine is a chiral compound with a disubstitution pattern. It has been shown to be selective for the serotonin receptor 5HT2A and the chemokine receptor CCR5, which are both G protein-coupled receptors. The molecule has been shown to exhibit low nanomolar binding affinity for these two receptors. 3-(4-Fluorobenzyl)pyrrolidine has also been shown to act as an antagonist of serotonin and chemokines, which are involved in inflammatory responses. This drug binds to the alpha subunit of the G protein, preventing activation of downstream signaling pathways, including mitogen-activated protein kinases and phospholipase C. 3-(4-Fluorobenzyl)pyrrolidine may have potential applications in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis or asthma.
