Product Information
- 5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole
5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole is a pyrazole derivative that has been shown to be an antagonist for the alpha adrenergic receptor. The compound has been shown to have excellent selectivity against other receptors, such as the beta adrenergic and dopaminergic receptors. 5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole was found to be potent in inhibiting the alpha adrenergic receptor with an IC50 of 0.1 nM. The potency of 5-(4-fluorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole was optimized by derivatization of the side chain, which led to a decrease in its IC50 value from 7.8 μM to 0.1 μM. This optimization also led to increased antagonistic activity on the alpha receptor with no significant effects on other receptors such as beta or dopaminergic receptors, making it a potential lead compound for drug development targeting alpha adrenergic
