Synonyms:
  • 7-Fluoro-1H-indazole
  • 1H-Indazole, 7-fluoro-
  • 7-fluoro-1H-indazole7-Fluoro Indazole
Description:

7-Fluoro indazole is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme cytochrome P450. It inhibits the activity of this enzyme by binding to the heme moiety, thus preventing electron transfer from NADPH to CYP450. 7-Fluoro indazole has been shown to interact with a number of other drugs, including amiodarone, cimetidine, clomiphene, dexamethasone, and erythromycin. 7-Fluoro indazole is an effective inhibitor of the human cytochrome P450 enzymes 1A2 and 2C9. The inhibition of these enzymes leads to decreased metabolism of certain drugs such as amiodarone or clomiphene. This drug also has inhibitory potencies against the human cytochrome P450 enzymes 3A4 and 2D6.
