Description

Fmoc-O-trityl-L-homoserine is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have antibacterial properties. It binds to the bacterial cell wall and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death. Fmoc-O-trityl-L-homoserine has been shown to be active against Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. This compound was also found to inhibit the growth of monocytic cells, which are white blood cells that play a role in immune response. Fmoc-O-trityl-L-homoserine has been shown to stimulate the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL1β and TNFα.
