4-Fluoro-3-nitrophenylboronic acid is a small molecule inhibitor that binds to the active site of tyrosine kinases. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth and proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as inhibit the growth of human epidermal cells. In addition, 4-Fluoro-3-nitrophenylboronic acid also inhibits the activity of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors. The inhibition of these receptors may be due to its covalent binding with EGF receptor protein tyrosines through a Michael addition reaction.
