Product Information

Name:
3-Fluoro-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid
Synonyms:
  • 3-Fluoro-4-methoxybenzeneboronic acid
  • ethyl (2E)-2-cyano-3-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]prop-2-enoate
Description:

3-Fluoro-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid is a potent estrogen receptor agonist that can be used to synthesize new compounds with potential therapeutic applications. 3-Fluoro-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid has been shown to be a selective transcription activator and is able to activate the expression of estrogen responsive genes in vitro. This compound is also an arylation agent, which allows it to react with primary amines or sulfhydryl groups on proteins, such as thiols in cysteine residues. The enzyme catalytic activity of 3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid makes it possible for this molecule to be used as an esterification agent and as a dehydrogenation agent.
