Product Information

Name:
Fmoc-Asp(EDANS)-OH
Synonyms:
  • N-Alpha-Fmoc-L-Aspartic Acid-Beta-[2-(1-Sulfonyl-5-Naphthyl)-Aminoethylamide]
Description:

Fmoc-Asp(EDANS)-OH is a peptide that inhibits foot-and-mouth disease virus. It is a constant, which means it has the same amino acid sequence in all species. Fmoc-Asp(EDANS)-OH binds to the lipoprotein receptor on the surface of cells and inhibits viral infection. This inhibitor has shown inhibitory concentration values against foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) in cell culture assays. Fmoc-Asp(EDANS)-OH also inhibits ns3 protease and hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease activity, but does not show any inhibitory effect on other serine proteases such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, or elastase.
