Description:
Fmoc-Lys(Nic)-OH is a synthetic compound that is used in biological studies. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human pulmonary fibroblasts, which are cells that produce connective tissue. Fmoc-Lys(Nic)-OH inhibits the growth of these cells by inhibiting cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase and subsequently blocking protein synthesis and cellular proliferation. This compound also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, as well as inhibiting collagen synthesis. Fmoc-Lys(Nic)-OH also has anti-oxidant properties because it can reduce reactive oxygen species.
