Product Information
- Linezolid Dimer
Linezolid is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the ribosomal 50S subunit. Linezolid is synthesized by reacting 3-fluoro-4-(4-morpholinyl)phenylboronic acid with benzylamine and methyl acetate in the presence of an acid binding agent and a base. This reaction produces a racemic mixture of linezolid, which can be purified to yield either enantiomer. The synthesis method for linezolid has been published as well as its chemical properties, including acid binding, amino methyl group, and ketone group.
