Product Information
- Fluoroaluminum(2+)
Fluoroaluminum is a viscosous substance that is a reaction product of aluminum, hydrogen fluoride, and polycarboxylic acid. It contains fluorine, which has an inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria. Fluoroaluminum has been shown to inhibit the growth of various bacterial strains including those resistant to antibiotics. Fluoroaluminum also exhibits photochemical properties, which may be due to its ability to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS). These ROS can cause oxidative stress in cells by damaging proteins and DNA. The hydroxyl group in fluoroaluminum may also have an inhibitory effect on potassium ion channels and subsequently lead to cell death by stopping potassium ion transport across the membrane.
