Product Information
- Lysine, 5-fluoro- (9CI)
5-Fluorolysine is a synthon that can be used to synthesize hydantoin derivatives. The synthesis of 5-fluorolysine is accomplished by the lactonization of the corresponding acid chloride with sodium amide in presence of pyridine. 5-Fluorolysine can be converted into an alkylating agent by reacting it with a halogeno compound in presence of sodium ethoxide. The reaction mechanism involves the formation of a radical intermediate, which reacts with the halogeno compound to form an alkylating agent.
