Description:

6-Fluoro L-DOPA (6FL) is a fluorinated form of L-DOPA, which is an amino acid that is used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. 6FL has been shown to have high uptake in human serum and imaging studies. It has also been shown to inhibit liver lesions caused by carcinoid syndrome, as well as hepatic enzyme activities and the production of energy metabolites. 6FL may be used as an anti-cancer compound due to its emission from positron emission tomography (PET) scans. The distribution of 6FL can be used for diagnosis purposes through positron emission tomography (PET) scanning and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
