Fluorocyclohexane is a cyclohexane with one fluorine atom. It is chemically stable, with few reactive groups, and has a low rate of metabolism. Fluorocyclohexane does not undergo tautomerization reactions and is not easily oxidized. Fluorocyclohexane has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal studies, and may be effective against autoimmune diseases. The monofluoro form of fluorocyclohexane was shown to bind to a receptor on the surface of T cells that are involved in immune response. This binding inhibits the inflammatory response by preventing the release of cytokines from these cells.
