Product Information

Name:
1-Fluoro-2-Naphthol
Description:

1-Fluoro-2-Naphthol is a fluorinated phenol with a sodium salt of the f-Teda, which is an asymmetric catalyst. It is used in catalytic asymmetric synthesis. 1-Fluoro-2-Naphthol reacts with activated salicylic acid to form 2,6-difluorobenzonitrile. It has been shown to be reactive and can be used as a reactive intermediate in different chemical reactions. 1-Fluoro-2-Naphthol can also be recycled for reuse because it does not contain any toxic elements or compounds.
1-Fluoro-2-Naphthol was synthesized from the reaction between chlorophenols and acetonitrile at high temperatures and pressure. The yields of the fluoronaphthalene product were increased by recycling 1fluoro2naphtol from the catalytic step, instead of using fresh reagents.
