The hydrogenation reactions of this biphenyl are regiospecifically nature and the nitro group can be removed by hydrogenation. 9-Fluorophenanthrene has a molecular formula of C9H10FO2 and it is fluorine substituted aromatic compound. The nmr spectra for this compound show that it contains one fluoroaromatic ring. 9-Fluorophenanthrene can react with trifluoroacetic acid to form the difluoride ion and trifluoroacetic acid.
