Product Information
Fluoroethylguanosine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which is necessary for the synthesis of DNA. It has been shown to be effective against murine leukemia and other types of cancer cells. Fluoroethylguanosine reacts with guanosine at its 2’-position in an intrastrand cross-link, thereby preventing DNA replication and transcription. This analog also has a high affinity for purines and can form intramolecular crosslinks with p-388 (a protein) as well as other purines such as adenine and hypoxanthine.
