4-Fluorobutyl benzoate is a reactive chemical that can be used as a reagent in biochemical, toxicological or other scientific research. It is an ester of 4-fluorobenzoic acid and 4-fluorobutanol. 4-Fluorobutyl benzoate is toxic to the respiratory system and may cause death by ingestion or inhalation. This chemical has been shown to react with fluoride, chloride, nitro, thiocyanate, aldehyde, fluoroacetyl, isothiocyanate and citric acid. It has also been shown to have sulfur containing groups that are reactive with tosylate and mercaptan.
