7-Fluorobenzo(a)pyrene is a carcinogenic hydrocarbon that is metabolized by the P450 system. It is metabolized to 7-Hydroxybenzo(a)pyrene, which can be further metabolized to dihydrodiols. The average half-life for 7-Fluorobenzo(a)pyrene in human liver is approximately 18 hours. It has been shown to cause tumorigenicity in animal models and is classified as a probable human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
