Description:
3-Fluoro-2-iodopyridine is a boronic acid that can be synthesized by convergent strategies. It is prepared by the intramolecular coupling of 3-iodo-2,4-difluoropyridine and boronic acid. 3-Fluoro-2-iodopyridine has been shown to cross-couple with electron rich aromatic compounds such as benzene, phenol, and aniline in a copper catalyzed reaction. The metalation of 3-fluoro-2-iodopyridine yields the corresponding 1,3,5 triarylimidazolidinone.
