Description:

3-Fluorobenzotrichloride is a fluorinating agent that is used to produce pharmaceuticals, plastics, and solvents. It can be used as an industrial catalyst for hydrolysis and hydrolysis reactions. 3-Fluorobenzotrichloride is also an intermediate in the production of chlorinated organics. This chemical can be used for the production of tetrachloropropane (CCl4) by chlorinating carbon tetrachloride with hydrogen chloride. 3-Fluorobenzotrichloride reacts with acid to form hydrofluoric acid (HF). The hydrolysis of this compound produces hydrochloric acid (HCl) and fluoroform (CF3CH2OH).
