Description

18-Fluorooctadecanoic acid is a fluorinated fatty acid that is emitted by anthropogenic sources, such as coal-fired power plants. It inhibits the growth of cephalosporium, and it has been shown to inhibit the polymerase enzyme in polymerases that are involved in cellular replication. 18-Fluorooctadecanoic acid also inhibits the growth of viruses due to its ability to inhibit cellular polymerases.
