2-(2-Fluorobenzoyl)Pyridine is a chemical compound that is a nitrated derivative of pyridine and can be synthesized by reacting ethylenediamine with 2-fluorobenzonitrile in the presence of sodium nitrate. The synthesis of 2-(2-fluorobenzoyl)pyridine was first reported in 1885. It is an isomeric form of benzofuropyridine, which differs from it only in the position of one hydrogen atom. The compounds are sometimes called "nitropyridines."
