2-Fluoro-6-methoxybenzamide (FMBA) is a chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to have high affinity for genomic DNA and RNA in tumor cells, which may be due to its ability to modify nucleic acid structures. FMBA was developed as a potential pediatric cancer drug, but has not been approved for use in children yet. FMBA has pharmacokinetic profiles that are similar to those of other benzamide derivatives, including cetuximab and panitumumab.
