Product Information
2-Fluorogeranyl Pyrophosphate is a compound that is found in the membrane of eukaryotic cells. It is an analog of geranyl pyrophosphate, which functions as a cofactor for the enzyme, farnesyl-diphosphate synthase. The enzyme catalyzes the reaction between dimethylallyl pyrophosphate and geranylgeranyl diphosphate to produce farnesyl pyrophosphate and diphosphate. 2-Fluorogeranyl Pyrophosphate has been shown to dilate blood vessels, which may be due to its ability to activate epidermal growth factor receptors or by its ability to inhibit platelet aggregation. 2-Fluorogeranyl Pyrophosphate also emits light when it reacts with oxygen at high temperatures (above 200°C).
