Product Information
5-Fluoro-2,3-dimethylquinoxaline is a fluorine substituent that was synthesized by reacting 2,3-dimethylacetophenone with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. The enthalpy of formation of 5-fluoro-2,3-dimethylquinoxaline was determined by calorimetry and found to be -8.5 kJ/mol. It has two isomers: the deoxygenated form and the crystalline form. The deoxygenated form is more stable than the crystalline form due to the presence of hydrogen bonding in the former. Microcalorimetry experiments were performed to determine the heat capacity change for both forms at 298 K, which resulted in a heat capacity change of -0.00286 J/(mol·K) for the deoxygenated form and -0.00285 J/(mol·K) for the crystalline form.
